Coverage of February 7th & 8th 2012
7th and 8th February 2012 was one of the most challenging days for me as a photo journalist. I thought I would share some of my pictures that made it to the front pages of the world media. I was delighted to hear the news from our editor in Delhi that Washington Post has run a gallery consisting of almost all my pictures that I filed. NBC News also had a separate photo blog post of my pictures.
2012: The moments that made history
I would like to wish everyone a happy new year 2013. Here are some of the moments that made history in the Maldives in 2012. It was a year full of incidents which made Maldives appear in the global media. Some of those events are unfortunate.
I don’t expect 2013 to be any different. With elections in 2013 I believe it would be full of events which would change the history yet again! I hope 2013 will be a year where everyone would think of the nation first before putting forward their own personal agenda. I hope politicians will think of the ordinary citizens before they make their choices.
I wish everyone a prosperous 2013!

Pure joy with Chris de Burgh
I had a hectic weekend working in the Disaster Management Center. So I was glad that I managed to get a few hours to relax and enjoy the amazing music by Chris de Burgh.
We don’t get many international artists performing in the Maldives and I could feel the difference. The quality of the sound and the lighting set up was completely different. We have lots to learn in those fields I believe.
I have been in the stadium the whole year to cover football matches, but tonight it was completely different. I guess the first music show in the stadium. The organizers did a fantastic job. But I guess, they could have done better in marketing the show.
Anyways, I got some shots from where I managed to get a seat and later some close ups. Hope you enjoy it!
