In Delhi

In Delhi now and totally exhausted now. Didn’t sleep well in the flights to Delhi either.  Also discovered later today that the national team officials have barred us from visiting the team hotel.

It could be discussed against it and to it as well. Of course the team needs to be away from all the other unnecessary things and it could be a good decision.

But based on the reputation of the national team in the past, the decision might come as way to block the media from ‘seen the unexpected’ things. Maldivesoccer.com has brought several issues in the last few tournaments where we have covered. As a rule, we never stay in a hotel where the team stays. Only during the Asian Games in China, we stayed in the same apartment as we went as media officials of Maldives Olympic Committee.

Anyways, we went to the practice session held in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium’s practice grounds. It was a huge ground and the ‘auto wala’ had so much difficulty in locating the practice ground. Thanks to Shimaz’s iphone4 and google maps, we checked the satellite map and managed to go there before the team arrived.

But the worst part was that they never knew a team was going to practice in the grounds. Anyways, we got a good interview from the coach and we managed to plan for tomorrow

Sajid, Mujey from Football Association of Maldives (FAM) media and Hamdhoon from Haveeru Daily will be joining us tomorrow morning. I would be sleeping like a log and I don’t think I will wake up.

Now it’s time for us to head to bed..
